The similarities:Both are needed for each other to create or invent something.
The differences:Invention is a new, useful process, machine,improvement and it is recognized as the product of some unique intuition or genius,as distinguished from ordinary mechanical skill or craftsmanship. However creativity is the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns,relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods and interpretations.
Inter-relationship:Ideas are needed to invent and without invention the idea would be worthless
